Gion Matsuri – the eve of the festival -
One of the biggest three festivals in Japan is the Gion Matsuri. (FYI: Tenjin Matsuri in Osaka and Kanda Matsuri in Tokyo are other two.)
of a pestilence in 869, when the people prayed to the deity of Gion - jinja Shrine, to rid the land of the pestilence.
The festival lasts for about one month. The highlight is the Yamaboko Float Parade on the 17th. Thirty-two of these floats leave Shijo Karasuma at 9:00 in the morning and travel down Shijo-dori to Kawaramachi-dori, then to Oike-dori. Not only the main festival, but you also enjoy the eve of the festival especially at night. The floats are elegantly decorated with tapestries, and when the lanterns are lighted, the floats are lit up.
You can visit traditional town houses where historical items are exhibited only during the festival period.

Gnzo Birds: Java sparrow-
These are the videos of Java sparrow that buncho often uploads on Gnzo.
There is a series of six-second videos as the diary of close observation on Java sparrows from their birth to adulthood.
I’m happy to be familiar with those birds sharing buncho’s album.
You can find the birds by searching with the user name “buncho”.
And, I’d like to tame them myself too!

Gnzo Colors: Yellow-
Recently I see more videos with bright colors on Gnzo.
Among them, I picked up “something yellow” today.
It is said that colors have psychological effect on human being. Yellow brightens our feeling. It’s certain.
It is said that yellow produces nervous system excitation, and helps activating our digestive system.
At first, I thought all “something yellow” might be flowers, but unexpectedly there is a variety of them on Gnzo.
They’re yellow trains, foods, a piece of art, and toys!
I can see how colors are used to from the stuffs for personal use to urban landscapes.
I’m gonna collect something else in other colors on Gnzo for the next time.
